Care Pathways offers a range of foster care and child protection services to support children, their families and foster carers. As part of this service we support families by providing an Assessment and Intervention Service.
For a number of different reasons, children, young people and their families sometimes are involved with the Department of Communities – Child Safety Services. At times children may be looked after by foster carers or placed in residential care, which is provided by Care Pathways.
When this is necessary, the wellbeing of the child is always our first concern. However, we never forget the importance of the child’s natural family and we work in a number of ways to support all the important relationships in a child’s life.
This can include counselling for parents, mediation to help resolve disagreements, parenting skills training and anger management training.
Care Pathways is funded by the Department of Communities – Child Safety Services and you will need a referral from this department to access this Assessment and Intervention Service.
