If you want to be a foster carer, here’s how…
The first step in becoming a foster carer is to contact Care Pathways. We have services in a variety of locations around Queensland and our staff will be able to direct you to the service in your area.
The Care Pathways team are happy to advise and discuss if fostering is right for you. They will be able to provide you with further details about foster care and the process involved.
If you decide that you would like to progress, our Care Pathways team will then help you start the application process. This process involves background checks, and interviews with you and personal referees. This is to ensure the people who become carers have the skills and capabilities to look after children and young people in need.
Throughout the process, Care Pathways staff will provide you with all the training and guidance you need to be a foster carer.
Make sure you also check out our FAQs and our Resources section of the website. Both contain extra information about Care Pathways’ fostering and other services.
